Renato Sanches to Manchester United speculation not worrying Benfica

Benfica have said they are unworried by suggestions Manchester United are lining up a bid for teenage midfielder Renato Sanches.

United are reportedly willing to pay €30 million to sign Sanches, who has broken into the Benfica team this season, but manager Rui Vitoria is remaining relaxed about the possibility of United coming in for the 18-year-old.

"Renato is mature beyond his age," Vitoria told SportTV. "He is being protected by a group of players who support him and are giving him a lot of help.

"This situation is not difficult for us. If things happen, they happen. We all know that's the way it is. There is no point in worrying over things that have yet to happen.

"There is no drama about all this. The team is very stable and that helps dealing with speculation like this."

Sanches is a Portugal under-19 international who reportedly has a €80 million buyout clause in his contract.

United manager Louis van Gaal is yet to make any signings in the January transfer window.
