Bayern Munich are confident of winning the race for Norway starlet Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard, 15, is widely regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in Europe. He currently is under contract at Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset, but has been training with several European top clubs in recent months and weeks.
The midfielder will turn 16 later this week, and will then be allowed to make the move into the European Union.
After a stint at Liverpool, the youngest ever player to take part in the European Championship qualifiers joined the Bundesliga champions for a trial last week.
On Saturday, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild that they he believes Bayern "have a good chance" of winning the race for the midfielder, who is also reportedly a target for Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.
"He's a very interesting player who however has offers from all over Europe," the Bayern chief told reporters following the 4-0 victory at Augsburg. "We'll see whether he opts for us at the end of the day.
"I believe that he wants to make a decision in the next few months," Rummenigge added, with Suddeutsche Zeitung reporting that Bayern hope to use coach Pep Guardiola -- who has talked to both player and his father and agent -- as their trump card.
"The Odegaards have clearly signified how much they rate Guardiola's sense of how to treat talents," the paper said.
Bayern winger Arjen Robben, however, warned that the hype surrounding the Norwegian youngster could be too much.
"The lad's only 15. Just let him play football," Robben told kicker. "At this age you just need to train, play and have fun."
The Netherlands international -- in superb form for Bayern of late -- added that the expectations could weigh heavy on the youngster, and warned Odegaard's entourage to remain calm.
"He's just very, very young. And I think that a lot is headed his way. I hope that he makes the right decision," Robben said. "The most important thing is that those close to him remain calm."
