Ex-Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni appointed as new Sparta Prague boss

Czech club Sparta Prague have appointed Andrea Stramaccioni as their new coach.

The Italian, who has signed a two-year deal, becomes just the fourth foreign coach to have worked in the Czech Republic's top division.

His appointment comes after the club's recent struggles for domestic form and their failure to reach the Champions League since 2005.

The powerhouse club have not won the Czech title for three years and had four different coaches last season.

Stramaccioni, a former Inter Milan, Udinese and Panathinaikos coach, has said Sparta "need to be successful."
