LIVE Transfer Talk: Dortmund see Frankfurt's Silva as replacement if Haaland leaves

The January transfer window might seem like a distant memory, but that doesn't mean the rumour mill has shut down! Speculation over summer moves is heating up, so check out the latest gossip below, and see all official deals here.

TOP STORY: Dortmund eye Silva as Haaland replacement

Borussia Dortmund could try to sign striker Andre Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt if they lose Erling Haaland in the summer. That's according to Bild, which reports that Dortmund lead a number of European clubs keen to sign Portugal international at the end of the season.

th

Silva has scored 23 goals and added seven assists in a scintillating season that has also seen him attract admiring glances from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid. His contract runs until 2023 and, while it has no release clause in it, it has been reported Frankfurt are looking to raise €40 million for the 25-year-old.

United, like Dortmund, are also in the market for a new striker at the end of the season with Edinson Cavani reportedly heading to Boca Juniors, though they may move for Haaland who would be a more expensive option than Silva at over €120m but is already one of the world's best players.

To replace Silva, Frankfurt could look to re-sign Luka Jovic on a permanent deal. The Serbian is on loan at his former club after he left for Real Madrid in a failed €60m move in 2019.

LIVE BLOG

22.00 BST: That will do it for the latest edition of our LIVE Transfer Talk blog. We hoped you enjoyed following along with us and remind you to check back shortly for the latest transfer rumours, reports and completed deals. Goodnight!

21.18 BST: With Jose Mourinho gone, Tottenham have major changes to make this summer.

Manager will be first up and in addition to names like Julian Nagelsmann and Max Allegri, Athletic Bilbao's Marcelino is being considered, reports the Athletic UK. The 55-year-old, who has managed his entire career in Spain, has previously held roles at the likes of Sevilla, Villarreal, and Valencia.

Marcelino might not be the star name that Spurs fans are looking for but would likely come cheaper than Allegri and Nagelsmann, which could be important given the club had to pay Mourinho a £17 million settlement.

20.36 BST: Sassuolo have set a price between €15-20 million on young forward Giacomo Raspadori, Calciomercato writes.

The 21-year-old, who scored two late goals on Wednesday to help Sassuolo beat AC Milan, has been linked with Inter, Juventus and Marseille in recent weeks. An Italy Under-21 international, the youngster has scored four goals this season for Sassuolo.

19.57 BST: Arsenal continue to monitor Real Betis right-back Emerson, with Hector Bellerin projected to depart the club after eight full seasons with Arsenal's first team.

Barcelona are interested in Bellerin, and also having a say in Emerson's future, given his move to Europe was a joint-transfer completed by both Barcelona and Betis. The deadline for Barcelona to pay their half and an extra £2.5 million to purchase the player outright is this summer, and they are reported to have set a £21.5m transfer fee on the Brazilian.

Estadio Deportivo understands that this could be a problem for Arsenal, who are not loaded with cash at the moment. PSG are also interested in Emerson, and due to their Qatar Sports Investment ownership group have no such troubles when it comes to finances.

19.05 BST: Is Erik Lamela's time at Spurs coming to an end?

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Lamela and his partner are ready to move on and find a new challenge.

The reporter told Area Napoli: "The Argentine and his wife have the same desire: to return to Italy.

"Lamela, in all likelihood, at the end of the current football season, will leave Tottenham at end to try a new experience.

The 29-year-old's representatives have reportedly held talks with AC Milan and Napoli, with the Argentine having previously enjoyed a spell in Serie A with Roma (2011-13).

18.18 BST: Saint-Etienne teenager Lucas Gourna-Douath is on the radars of both Chelsea and PSG, according to Goal.

The 17-year-old, nicknamed the 'New Pogba,' has had a breakout season with Les Verts, making 25 appearances and starting 10 games. With many of Ligue 1's clubs in financial trouble following the collapse of the league's TV deal with Mediapro, Saint-Etienne could have a tough decisionon their hands regarding the France Under-17 international.

Gourna-Douath has been valued at €25 million and let's not forget the French club has sold top-rated youngsters William Saliba and Wesley Fofana to the Premier League in recent years.

17.29 BST: Cengiz Under's loan move at Leicester hasn't gone as planned and parent club Roma remain keen on offloading the Turkey international.

Turkish outlet Karadeniz'de Sonnokta claims that Under could soon be headed back to Turkey with Trabzonspor interested in the 23-year-old winger. Trabzonspor coach Abdullah Avcı previously worked with Under at Istanbul Basaksehir in 2016-17, and is reportedly keen to take the talented youngster on loan.

Roma are more interested in selling Under on a permanent basis so that could prove a hurdle with cash-strapped Trabzonspor come the summer.

16;o0p.['41 BST: Could David Alaba's reported five-year contract with Real Madrid pave the way for Man United to sign Raphael Varane?

While Alaba can play a number of positions both in defence and midfield, he has largely played as a centre-back over the past two seasons. With Varane about to enter the final year of his contract, the Manchester Evening News speculates that Madrid are keen to get recoup a fee for the Frenchman rather than lose him for nothing in 2022.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently revealed the club's "very bad financial situation" when discussing a potential contract extension for Varane's centre-back partner Sergio Ramos, so the 27-year-old Varane could be available for the right price after all.

15.56 BST: Who is next in line to take over at Bayern Munich?

15.15 BST: Jose Mourinho and Spurs' uneasy alliance ended with no trophies and overwhelming disappointment, writes James Olley.

While their relationship ended abruptly on Monday with news of his firing, the truth is that Tottenham's alliance with Jose Mourinho was a transactional relationship from day one.

Spurs are run on a day-to-day basis by chairman Daniel Levy, one of the shrewdest and sharpest administrators in football. Mourinho may have fooled some by reviving his Instagram account and generally employing softer rhetoric in press conferences, but he remains the same combative and confrontational figure he has always been.

These two men were consequently on a collision course from the moment they shook hands at Mourinho's unveiling in November 2019, though that's not to say it didn't make a degree of sense. Spurs needed a manager with the stature and personality to escape from Mauricio Pochettino's shadow, someone with a track record of doing the only thing Pochettino had failed to achieve during his five-and-a-half years in charge: win trophies. For his part, Mourinho needed a club already positioned within touching distance of major honours to rebuild his reputation, specifically to contest the charge that the game's elite had left him behind as the curmudgeonly champion of a bygone era.

Messi shines as confident Barcelona click, Spurs fire Mourinho, Man City's quadruple quest ends Levy is parsimonious in his approach, a methodology reinforced by having a £1 billion stadium to pay for. He prefers to buy young players who either develop or possess a resale value. Mourinho's management requires ruthless big spending on finished products, his authority established through the clinical assembly of talented individuals whom he expects to possess the mental fortitude to focus solely on the relentless pursuit of glory.

Tottenham's stunning stadium is evidence Levy also wants the best, and sources claim he has admired Mourinho from afar for years, but he is -- and always will be -- Mourinho's philosophical opposite. The question was always whether this unlikely marriage could deliver short-term success before the inevitable, and expensive, divorce.

14.42 BST: Norwich midfielder Emiliano Buendia has been linked to a host of clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old has 13 goals and 15 assists so far this season as Norwich sealed promotion back to the top flight again and he's revealed he's not thinking about a move.

"Everyone knows I have a contract here, I am really happy here but everyone has hopes for the future," he told the Pink'Un. "I always say that I am really pleased with this club, it means a lot for me and my life, and also for my family. I am really happy and we will see what happens in the future.

"It means a lot [promotion], it's the best league in the world and everybody wants to play in this type of league. So for me, in personal terms, it's amazing to come back again, so hopefully we'll have a very good season."

14.00 BST: Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has said UEFA are only focused on money and are ignoring managers and players after some of the game's biggest clubs tried to break away from European football's governing body this week.

Barca were one of 12 teams from Spain, England and Italy to announce their involvement in a European Super League on Sunday. That project has since crumbled after all six English sides involved pulled out on Tuesday.

UEFA, meanwhile, this week passed a resolution to expand the Champions League from 32 teams to 36, which will see teams play 10 group games instead of the six they currently play. Sixteen teams will then advance to the knockout stages.

"It's unbelievable what players need to play in the last few years in all competitions," Koeman said in a news conference when asked about the changes being suggested by both UEFA and the Super League. "Everybody is talking about a Super League or a [new] Champions League or a different way of playing in Europe. UEFA is talking a lot, but it is not doing or listening to the football people, not the managers or the players, about the number of games. Most important for them is the money.

"Even in Spain, the number of games we need to play -- tomorrow we play at 10 p.m. [CEST] -- all of that is not always in a positive way for the players. I think that's the most important. It's normal to think about the future of football but first of all they have to protect the football players."

13.38 BST: Schalke are going to have to let some players leave at the end of the season now, maybe even including star U.S. striker Matthew Hoppe?

12.20 BST: Japan captain and Lyon stalwart Saki Kumagai has announced she will leave the French side at the end of the season after eight years.

Kumagai is one of the most successful players at the club with a World Cup medal as well as seven Division 1 Feminine titles, six French Cups and five Champions League titles.

"After a 8 GREAT years in OL, I have decided to leave the club at the end of this season," she wrote on Instagram. "This decision wasn't easy, but I'm really looking forward to another challenge.

"I REALLY thank all the staff, all the teammates I met in Lyon and our President Jean-Michel Aulas. Thanks to you, I have grown and progressed even as a player, even as a person. Now I am going to give EVERYTHING for the team and to look for the TITLE."

Kumagai didn't announce where she was intending to move but several current and former Lyon players took to Instagram to wish her well including Lucy Bronze, Ada Hegerberg, Eugenie Le Sommer and Wendie Renard.

11.51 BST: Palmeiras starlet Gabriel Menino has been attracting plenty of interest with his performances, and Chelsea are once again being linked.

The Blues want the 20-year-old midfielder but aren't willing to pay his release clause of €60m. They will have to move quickly to seal a deal, Calciomercato says, as Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Tottenham are all keen as well.

11.11 BST: Catalan TV station Esport3 claims that Barcelona are again ready to make a move for Lyon forward Memphis Depay.

Depay, 27, is available on a free transfer this summer and almost moved to Camp Nou last year before the club's financial situation took a major hit.

However, this time, Barca are only willing to offer him around half the wages he would have got if he had moved in October. Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are monitoring the situation but Depay is reportedly keen to play under Ronald Koeman.

10.44 BST: Besiktas are ready to let striker Cyle Larin leave this summer, says FotoMac.

Larin, 26, has 18 goals and four assists in 37 games for the Turkish club this season but is attracting interest from West Ham and Everton.

Besiktas would reportedly allow the Canada international to depart for around €9m -- over twice the €4m they paid to sign him from Zulte Waregem last year.

10.11 BST: Manchester United's boardroom is going to have a different look next year.

09.37 BST: Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is being linked to Real Betis by The Sun.

Bailly, 27, is ready to reject a new contract at Manchester United and seek a summer move amid concerns over a lack of opportunities under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, sources have told ESPN.

The Ivory Coast defender, who was former United manager Jose Mourinho's first signing at Old Trafford with a £30m transfer from Villarreal in June 2016, has been in talks over a new deal to replace his contract, which expires at the end of next season.

Bailly has made just 100 appearances in all competitions for United since arriving five years ago, with the former Espanyol defender's time at the club disrupted by a series of lengthy injury lay-offs.

United would risk losing Bailly as a free agent next summer if he remains at the club without extending his contract and, with interest from clubs in Spain and Italy, a move is likely to suit both parties at the end of this season.

09.05 BST: TyC Sports claims that Barcelona have offered Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero a two-year contract.

Aguero, 32, is set to leave City when his contract expires in the summer and Barca realise he could be key to persuading fellow Argentine Lionel Messi to remain at Camp Nou beyond the expiry of his own contract in a few months' time.

08.30 BST: Florentino Perez has admitted that Real Madrid's "really bad [financial] situation" has complicated Sergio Ramos' contract renewal, saying the centre-back's future could remain unresolved until the end of the season.

Negotiations with club captain Ramos -- a Madrid player since 2005 -- have stalled, with his deal due to expire at the end of June and no signs of progress on an extension.

"I love him, but we're in a really bad situation. We have to be realistic," Perez told El Chiringuito. "I haven't said (that he'll go). First we're thinking about ending the season, then we'll see. A lot of things could happen."

Perez also denied that Vinicius Jr. -- who impressed recently in Madrid's wins over Liverpool and Barcelona -- could be allowed to leave to raise money, or be included as part of a swap deal for PSG star Kylian Mbappe.

PAPER GOSSIP

- One minute he seems happy at Paris Saint-Germain, the next Neymar is once again being linked with a return to Barcelona, it seems. Marca reports the Brazilian forward is keen to return to Camp Nou and is even willing to take a pay cut to do so. Barcelona president Joan Laporta is desperate to make the deal happen, says the report, but he could be prevented by Barca's perilous financial position. It is hoped Neymar returning would not only convince Lionel Messi to stay after his contract expires this summer, but also transform Barca back into Champions League contenders once again.

- PSG winger Julian Draxler has offered his services to Bayern Munich once his contract expires this summer, reports Foot Mercato. The outlet suggests that even though the Germany international would rather stay in the French capital, he is becoming increasingly frustrated with life in and out of the PSG side under Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino, it would appear, is actually keen to keep Draxler and sees him as an important squad player, but sporting director Leonardo is not convinced and won't offer him a new contract.

- Monaco are keen to sign Montpellier midfielder Junior Sambia, according to Le10 Sport. Monaco could be prepared to offer €10m to sign the 24-year-old. His contract runs out in June 2022 and it's clear Montpellier would rather let him go now rather than lose him on a free transfer in a year's time. The player's agent, Frederic Guerra, admits that no contact has been made between Sambia and Monaco, though Le10 Sport believes that will change in the next few weeks.

- Saint-Etienne's rising star Lucas Gourna-Douath is being watched by PSG, according to Goal. They believe the 17-year-old midfielder, who has played 25 times this season, is valued at around €25m. The French U17 captain has been compared in style to Man United's Paul Pogba and has been one of the stars of the season in Ligue 1.

- David Alaba looks to be bound for Real Madrid. Sky's Max Bielefeld is reporting that the Austria international is set to sign a five-year contract with Los Blancos in the coming weeks. The versatile 28-year-old defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and had been linked with Madrid and Barcelona. Alaba has played his entire senior career with Bayern -- outside of a short loan spell at Hoffenheim -- making 426 appearances and winning nine Bundesliga titles, six DFP-Pokals, and two Champions League crowns.
