TOP STORY: Camavinga contract snub puts Madrid on alert

Real Madrid's hopes of signing young France midfielder Eduardo Camavinga have been boosted by the news that he will not sign a new contract with Stade Rennes, The Athletic reports.

Camavinga has long been linked with interest from the Bernabeu and other major European clubs ever since he broke into the Rennes first team at the age of 16.

The 18-year-old made four appearances for the French club in the Champions League group stage this season, while he also scored his first goal for the France national team in October.

Camavinga's current contract is due to expire at the end of next season. The Athletic reports that he will reject the offer of an extension, in part because Rennes are keen to insert an expensive release clause into any new terms.

That means Madrid and other top clubs could sign him for a reduced fee this summer, or even wait until next January when they can agree a pre-contract agreement over a free transfer at the end of the 2021-22 season.

21.26 BST: Eder Militao is considering leaving Real Madrid this summer, according to Goal, finding himself behind Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane in the pecking order of central defenders, but Los Blancos hope to keep the 23-year-old they signed from FC Porto for €50m two years ago.

20.29 BST: Twenty-five-year-old Napoli midfielder, who's earned 11 caps for Spain, has so far refused to negotiate a new contract with the Partenopei, Gazzetta dello Sport writes, and Atletico Madrid are ready to pay €50m in order to sign the former Real Betis product, a fee Napoli would find agreeable for a player with two years remaining on his deal.

19.32 GMT: There is little optimism at Torino that they can agree a new contract with Andrea Belotti, whose deal expires in little more than 12 months' time, according to Tuttosport, which notes that Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Everton, Napoli and AS Roma are all interested in the 27-year-old Italy striker.

18.35 BST: Manchester United are out to avoid a repeat of last summer's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho as they look to recruit 20-year-old forward and teammate Erling Haaland from the Bundesliga club, with the Athletic reporting that the Red Devils will pull out of the race for the Norway international's signature early if the costs are deemed too high.

16.41 BST: Lazio are six points behind Serie A's final Champions League-qualifying place, with a game in hand, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that making it to Europe's premier club competition could be a valuable tool in keeping 26-year-old midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the Italian capital as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain prepare to court the Serbia international once more.

15.44 BST: AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has said that it is up to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to reopen talks with the club over a new contract.

Donnarumma, 22, is set become a free agent at the end of the season as the Italy international appears unlikely to sign a new deal.

Maldini said that the Rossoneri have gone as far as they can in their attempts to convince the player they handed a debut to as a 16-year-old that his future lies with them.

"It's a choice," he said. "Often, I have satisfied [the player], other times not, so it's absolutely nothing personal. To do business, you need two people to be happy"

14.41 BST: Harry Kane faces a big decision this summer over whether to dedicate the rest of his peak years to Tottenham or try to push for a move away from the club. But where could he go?

14.04 BST: Juventus have given Aaron Ramsey no indication that they are considering a transfer for the midfielder, The Athletic reports.

The 30-year-old signed for Juve in 2019 as a free agent after his contract at Arsenal expired, signing a four-year deal in Turin with a reported salary of €7.5m.

Last month Calciomercato reported that Juve were looking to move Ramsey and fellow midfielder Adrien Rabiot out of the club in order to free up funds allocated to their wage bill for the duo and use them to sign new players, with Paul Pogba named as their top target.

The Athletic reports, however, that Ramsey is happy at Juventus despite their faltering Serie A title defence, and his family is settled in Italy.

12.54 BST: Arsenal are ready to compete with Premier League rivals Leicester City for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Edouard has 21 goals in 37 appearances for Celtic this season. The 23-year-old has been a consistent scorer for the Glasgow club ever since he joined them from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, initially on a season-long loan before completing a £10m transfer.

The Telegraph reports that the Frenchman could be available for a transfer fee of £15-20m, given that his contract is due to expire at the end of next season.

12.01 BST: Former Barcelona scout Andre Cury says Paris Saint-Germain would sell Neymar this summer and that the Blaugrana should go all out to bring him back to Camp Nou.

Cury, who was involved in Neymar's move to Barca in 2013, says the Catalan club suggests the Catalan club would be able to make a deal work despite gross debt approaching €1.2 billion.

"What I would do is divide the cost over five years," he told Diario Sport. "The each year you look for €Xm to cover the costs. In sponsors, commercial deals, shirts sales, tickets... Since Neymar left, shirt sales fell almost 30%, tickets 20%.

"And I think PSG would sell him this summer. Any club in the world with a player not willing to renew has to sell. And if they were willing in 2019, why not now? He still has five years at the top level.

"I hope that Joan Laporta, who is a great president for Barcelona, has the same idea and signs him."

Neymar, 29, is out of contract with PSG in 2022. Various reports suggest a loose agreement has been struck for him to extend his deal, although other reports claim talks have been put on hold as he waits to see if Barca make a move for him.

11.19 BST: Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Real Madrid are among a host of clubs monitoring Jesse Lingard's situation ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.

Lingard has been in top form since joining West Ham on loan from Manchester United in January, scoring eight goals in nine games to earn a recall to the England squad. He now has scored in four consecutive games after netting twice in West Ham's 3-2 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

West Ham are keen to sign Lingard permanently at the end of the season but the 28-year-old's performances have alerted a number of top clubs in the Premier League, including the top six, and abroad. He has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.

Lingard is yet to make a decision about his future but his preference is to play Champions League football next season.

10.32 BST: Kevin De Bruyne employed the services of a data analytics company as part of the negotiations over his Manchester City contract extension, Training Ground Guru reports.

Last week De Bruyne committed himself to City until 2025, with the Belgium international representing himself in talks with the Premier League leaders.

As part of that process, the 29-year-old commissioned Analytics FC to produce an analysis of his performances for the club over the years and also a projection of his future contribution. He then presented this, along with a comparison of his salary with other top players in his position to convince the club that he was being underpaid.

Sources told ESPN's Rob Dawson last week that City's priority now is to sort out Raheem Sterling's future amid interest from Real Madrid.

08.44 BST: Arsenal could compete against London rivals West Ham United for the signing of Jesse Lingard this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.

Lingard, 28, has reinvigorated his career since joining the Hammers on loan from Manchester United, scoring eight goals in nine Premier League appearances and returning to the England squad since making his January move.

West Ham are eager to make the midfielder's stay in the capital a permanent one, and are even reportedly willing to let Declan Rice move to Old Trafford in order to make it happen this summer.

But the Standard reports that Arsenal will also turn their attention to Lingard if they are unable to sign Matin Odegaard from Real Madrid, following the Norway playmaker's own successful midseason loan spell at the Emirates.

08.00 BST: Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has revealed that he is yet to open talsk with the club over a new contract.

Dembele, 23, has little over a year remaining on his current deal, which expires at the end of next season.

The France international has often struggled with injuries and form since signing from Borusiss Dortmund in 2017, but has been enjoying some of his most consistent form at Barca this season.

"I still have a year to go on my contract," Dembele told beIN Sports. "There have not been any talks with the new board yet, but I am happy and I feel good.

The new president has come in. I don't know him that well, but he's very close to the player. We will see how it goes."

- Several European giants have been dealt blows in a bid for midfielder Nicolo Barella as Internazionale have reportedly declared they have no interest in letting him leave this summer. Calciomercato writes that Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich both have an interest in the player, while the Sun adds that Chelsea have also been monitoring the 24-year-old ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge.It is said that a new contract will be offered in the near future with a major pay rise if he agrees to stay at the San Siro.
