LIVE Transfer Talk: Chelsea spending could top £200m with reported Havertz deal

The coronavirus pandemic has made the transfer market uncertain -- and you can find out when the windows open and close here -- but here are the rumours floating around Europe's big leagues and beyond.

TOP STORY: Chelsea agree fee to finally land Havertz

Chelsea have been known admirers of Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Kai Havertz for months, and finally, the Times reports that the West London club have agreed a fee to get a deal over the line.

The report states that the Blues will pay an initial £72 million to sign the 21-year-old midfielder, but with add-ons their total outlay could reach £90m. Which is the amount that Leverkusen have been after the whole time.

With Hakim Ziyech (£33.3m) and Timo Werner (£47.7m) already in, and a £50m move for Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell also on the verge of completion, Chelsea's summer spending is set to crest £200m. Quite a response from a club who served a transfer ban, imposed by UEFA for breaching youth player regulations, last year.

LIVE BLOG

22.44 BST: AC Milan are closing in on a permanent transfer for 26-year-old forward Ante Rebic after the first of his two-year loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, with club executives and the Croatia international's representatives agreeing personal terms on Monday, according to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio.

22.01 BST: Corriere dello Sport writes that should Napoli fail in their pursuit of 23-year-old Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, who enjoyed a successful season on loan at Sevilla, then they could turn their attention to 27-year-old Nicolas Tagliafico of Ajax, who's previously been linked with Chelsea and Leicester City as a potential alternative or replacement for Ben Chilwell.

21.18 BST: With an €80m cheque from Chelsea on its way for the imminent sale of Kai Havertz, Bayer Leverkusen are set to beat RB Leipzig and Hertha Berlin to the €30m signing of 24-year-old striker Patrik Schick from AS Roma, Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

20.35 BST: Having lost Thomas Meunier to Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer this summer, Paris Saint-Germain have made signing a replacement right-back a priority this summer, and according to Sport, 25-year-old Hector Bellerin of Arsenal is the option that most intrigues Les Parisiens.

20.12 BST: With the day's bombshell news of Lionel Messi telling Barcelona that he wants to leave the club this summer, ESPN's Sid Lowe breaks down where the six-time Ballon d'Or winner could go next.

19.52 BST: Paris Saint-Germain are keen to add some steel to their midfield, and Le Parisien reports that Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey has caught the eye in the French capital, and the 27-year-old destroyer's €50m release clause could be a bargain for historically free-spending owners Qatari Sports Investments.

19.27 BST: Lionel Messi has told Barcelona that he wants to leave the club this summer, according to ESPN Argentina sources and reports out of Argentina. Messi, 33, has a contract until 2021 but has grown disappointed with events on and off the pitch at Camp Nou in recent months. The 8-2 Champions League humiliation at the hands of eventual winners Bayern Munich proved the final straw and he has now informed the club of his desire to embark on a new challenge following a first trophy-less season since 2007-08.

19.09 BST: Leicester City left-back and England international Ben Chilwell is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea in the next 48 hours before signing a five-year contract worth £190,000 a week, according to the Telegraph.

18.26 BST: Sevilla are hopeful of bringing Ivan Rakitic back from Barcelona six years after he left the club for the Camp Nou, but AS reports that the biggest hurdle in any deal is the Catalan outfit allowing the 32-year-old to leave for free despite the year remaining on his contract. With the Blaugrana looking to shed salary and reports suggesting that Rakitic is not part of new manager Ronald Koeman's plans, that shouldn't be too problematic.

17.43 BST: Paris Saint-Germain are alert to the situation in Barcelona with Luis Suarez, according to Catalan outlet Sport, and two years after investigating signing the Uruguay international to partner with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the French champions are waiting to see if Suarez can be acquired on a free transfer before making contact with the player's representatives. Of course, PSG did spend €60m to make Mauro Icardi's loan from Internazionale permanent this summer, but the 27-year-old was an unused substitute in Sunday's Champions League final as the Parisian club was blanked in defeat to Bayern Munich.

17.00 BST: Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani and sporting director Victor Orta have travelled to Valencia to negotiate a deal for striker Rodrigo who is valued at around €40m, says Marca.

Rodrigo, 29, made seven Premier League appearances with Bolton while on loan from Benfica in the 2010-11 season and has six goals in his last nine starts for Spain.

Valencia have already let Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin join rivals Villarreal, while Leeds are returning to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

16.11 BST: Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has been speaking about the future of striker Sergio Aguero and manager Pep Guardiola, who are both in the final year of their respective contracts.

"We are going to work it out together and it will be very natural wherever that is if its next year or the year after," he told the club website. "It will play out in a very comfortable way whatever Sergio decides.

"Likewise, with Pep, the conversation will be a very natural one. We have a clear alignment in terms of where we see the future and what we want in terms of success for the Club. It will be a natural conversation as we go and it will work out for the best for Pep, for me and for the Club."

15.38 BST: Arsenal academy defender Jordi Osei-Tutu has signed for Cardiff City on a season-long loan.

15.31 BST: PSG's Neymar failed to win the Champions League this season but he wouldn't have much of a better chance at Barcelona next season if he were to move.

14.50 BST: Leicester City winger Demarai Gray is of interest to Tottenham, claims Football Insider.

Gray, 24, has fallen down the pecking order at Leicester and Jose Mourinho is keen to take advantage by signing him for a cut-price fee, given he has just one year remaining on his contract.

14.31 BST: New Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has been speaking about future plans.

He said: "We've decided together with Gonzalo Higuain that he'll leave the club this summer. He's out of the project and we're ready to let him go."

Calling Inter Miami ...

14.16 BST: According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal are interested in signing Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The Gunners are already closing on a €30m deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes and now reportedly want his teammate.

Soumare, 21, could be a cheaper option that Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey in midfield but is also being tracked by Man United.

13.42 BST: Former Germany and Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber could be headed to Inter Miami, Bild reports.

Badstuber, 31, has been demoted to the reserves at VfB Stuttgart and his options of staying in Germany are limited. Badstuber recently said that he accepts the challenge of playing in the regional fourth division and "make the best out of it for the club."

But, with one year left on his Stuttgart deal, Beckham's Inter Miami have now reportedly stated their interest in the defender, who has never fully bounced back from multiple injuries sustained following his anterior cruciate ligament tear at Bayern in December 2012.

13.13 BST: Would Juventus' Paulo Dybala be a success at Barcelona?

12.31 BST: Bayern Munich have not given up hope of signing winger Ivan Perisic on a permanent transfer from Inter Milan, according to Bild.

Perisic, 31, featured in 35 competitive matches for Bayern following his loan move from Inter, scoring eight goals as the German side stormed to the Treble.

The Champions League winners are now considering a permanent contract for the Croatian, but are not willing to pay the €20m-€30m Inter are holding out for.

Kicker reported on Monday that Inter's demands could mean Bayern turn towards a younger player as they seek to replace Perisic and Philippe Coutinho, who returns to Barcelona this summer following his loan spell in Bundesliga.

12.12 BST: Schalke are hoping to brng back Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac, Sky Germany reports.

Kolasinac, 27, featured for the Royal Blues from 2011 to 2017 before making the move to the Emirates. But, according to Sky, the Bosnia & Herzegovina international's heart is no longer in playing in the Premier League as he seeks a return to Germany for personal reasons.

While talks have reportedly already been held, it remains unclear how Schalke would be able to afford Kolasinac's annual salary of around €8m after they introduced a self-imposed €2.5m salary cap.

One option discussed in the negotiations could see Kolasinac joining Schalke on loan, with the two clubs splitting the salary and the player waiving parts of it.

11.54 BST: Brahim Diaz has held talks with AC Milan about a loan move, sources have confirmed to ESPN's Alex Kirkland -- but several La Liga clubs are also interested in a deal for the Real Madrid forward.

Diaz, 21, has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabeu since joining from Manchester City in January 2019, making just six substitute appearances in La Liga last season.

The Spain youth international hasn't given up on succeeding at Madrid, and ESPN understands the preference of player and club would be for any loan agreement not to include an option to buy.

11.30 BST: Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho has looked likely to leave all summer ... but now could he stay?

11.01 BST: There's "uneasy calm" at Atletico Madrid over their chances of hanging onto goalkeeper Jan Oblak this summer, according to Marca.

Last week ESPN reported concerns at the club about losing key players such as Oblak or midfielder Thomas Partey if their release clauses are met.

Marca claims Atletico "believe that no-one can pay" the keeper's €120m buyout, given the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on football's finances.

The newspaper also notes, however, that the La Liga club "won't be completely relaxed until Oct. 5" when the transfer window closes, given Chelsea's interest in the Slovenian.

10.40 BST: Reports that Kieran Trippier is a target for Aston Villa have been picked up in the Spanish press, with both AS and Mundo Deportivo claiming the ex-Spurs man could return to the Premier League.

Trippier impressed at Atletico Madrid in his debut season in La Liga, becoming a fan favourite, although he wasn't always first-choice for coach Diego Simeone.

AS say that "at the moment, the interest hasn't gone further than a mere enquiry and there is no talk of a concrete offer."

Atletico have three right-back options with Trippier, Sime Vrsaljko and Santiago Arias, and would be happy to let one go -- but it's Arias who is most likely to depart this summer.

10.17 BST: The modelling career of Luka Jovic's fiancee could decide where the Real Madrid striker's future lies, according to Diario AS.

The newspaper cites reports in Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport that Sofija Milosevic is involved in several projects in the country, making a move to Serie A -- and fashion hub Milan -- more likely.

AC Milan are not the only club to express an interest in Jovic this summer, with Monaco, coached by Jovic's former manager Niko Kovac, also thought to be keen on the Serbian forward.

AS says that despite scoring just two goals since his €60m move last summer, Jovic is most likely to stay at Madrid for another year as back-up to Karim Benzema.

09.45 BST: Is Thiago Silva the kind of player that Chelsea need?

09.17 BST: Chelsea are really making some moves...

Not content with the above, and signing PSG's Thiago Silva on a free transfer, they are looking to bring in 21-year-old former Nice defender Malang Sarr on a free too, says Telefoot.

Sarr left the French club this summer and is set to sign a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

09.00 BST: RB Leipzig backup goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo has joined PSV Eindhoven on a two-year loan.

The Swiss shot-stopper, 26, only made 19 competitive appearances since moving to Bundesliga from Young Boys Bern in 2017 and is now hoping to make the next step in the Eredivisie.

Ahead of the loan, Mvogo put his signature on a new contract at Leipzig which ties him to the club until 2023.

08.53 BST: Thiago Silva will sign a two-year deal for Chelsea this week after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free, sources have told ESPN's Julien Laurens.

The PSG captain's contract at the French club ran out at the end of the previous campaign but he played all the Champions League knockout matches -- including in the 1-0 final defeat to Bayern Munich -- but was not offered a new deal after eight years at the Parc des Princes.

The Brazil centre-back has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, although minor details are still left to sort out. He will speak to manager Frank Lampard on Monday once he is back in Paris from Lisbon.

08.00 BST: Manchester City are crunching the numbers to work out if they would be able to sign Lionel Messi without breaching Financial Fair Play rules if the Barcelona star becomes available, sources have told ESPN's Moises Llorens and Rodrigo Faez.

City know any deal for Messi is complicated but want to be prepared should the option of bringing him arise. Therefore, they're looking into the costs that would be involved if Barca agree to sell for a reasonable price.

Barca's official stance is that Messi is not for sale and any interested parties will be referred to his €700m release clause.

However, ESPN revealed last week that there are some members of the board that would be open to selling the Argentina international if he continues to push for an exit and the money is reinvested in rebuilding the team.

PAPER TALK

Suarez, Rakitic on list as Barca plan purge

The pressure is mounting on Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu to reduce the club's astronomical wage bill with several top veteran players facing their marching orders.

Spanish outlet AS details how Barca's €525m bill in total salaries is the highest in La Liga and due to a projected reduction in revenues because of the coronavirus pandemic, there is now a self-imposed strategy to reduce that amount.

The players had previously accepted a salary cut that totalled €32m during the stoppage in play earlier this year, but that appears to not have made a dent in the club's operating costs.

Therefore, players like Luis Suarez (€23.4m), Sergio Busquets (€14.9m), Ivan Rakitic (€13.3m), Samuel Umtiti (€12m), Arturo Vidal (€9m) and Jordi Alba (€8.5m) could be among those who may be dealt to other clubs.

In fact, Suarez has reportedly been told by new Barca coach Ronald Koeman that he won't be part of his plans next season. As for Rakitic, the Croatian has been heavily linked with a move back to Sevilla FC.

This all comes among the talk, confirmed by ESPN sources, that Manchester City are looking at their books to see if they could possibly entice Lionel Messi to the Etihad.

Wolves ready bid for Arsenal's Maitland-Niles

Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to pay £20m to sign Arsenal's Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to Sky Sports.

The report suggests the clubs are in advanced talks for the versatile midfielder/full-back and that the deal would be for four years.

Arsenal are in desperate need of raising funds, and the report says Maitland-Niles won't be part of Mikel Arteta's plans. But Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo sees the England U21 youngster as the type of role player he needs in light of the potential long-term absence of defender Jonny due to an ACL injury.

The Gunners are also on the verge of a €30m deal to sign defender Gabriel Magalhaes from French side Lille, sources have previously told ESPN.

Tap-ins

- Italian outlet Tuttosport is reporting that Everton could send former Juventus striker Moise Kean out on loan ... to Juventus! The 20-year-old has failed to settle in the Premier League and now Carlo Ancelotti could be on board to let him return to Turin where he impressed before leaving the Serie A giants.

- Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium until at least 2024, the Premier League club said on Monday. The 23-year-old playmaker has made a huge impression since joining Leicester from Norwich City in 2018, scoring 16 goals in 76 appearances across all competitions.
