Transfer Talk: Tottenham jump United in line for Juve's Dybala

14.05 BST: The Daily Telegraph is reporting that "progress has been made between Inter Milan and Manchester United over Romelu Lukaku."

Lukaku is desperately trying to secure an exit from United as talks continue with Inter, sources have told ESPN FC.

Surely we are not far from news that Inter have raised their €60m offer and the striker has agreed to move to Italy to join up with Antonio Conte. Will United sign a replacement? Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic remains an option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if Lukaku leaves before Thursday's transfer deadline. Or, as sources told ESPN, will young Mason Greenwood get a shot this season?

14.01 BST: Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater isn't going to get much of a chance to play this season it seems, and Burnley are looking to take advantage by trying to snap him up on loan, says Sky Sports.

13.47 BST: Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, 22, has signed a new contract with the club and has joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan.

The centre-back, who previously came through the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers, impressed Jurgen Klopp last preseason but an ankle injury denied him the chance to kick on with the Reds. He will be targeting regular games in Germany's second division.

13.38 BST: Real Madrid will switch their attention to signing Neymar if they can't complete a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba by the end of the Premier League transfer window, a source has told ESPN FC.

A separate source added that Paris Saint-Germain would be open to an approach from Madrid, and are willing to sell Neymar to anyone. However, there are doubts any club would be willing to match the Ligue 1 champions' valuation for a player they paid €222m for just two years ago.

13.15 BST: Reports out of Brazil from UOL claim that Manchester United have had had a €60m bid for Ajax winger David Neres turned down.

Neres, 22, has been linked to a host of top clubs since Ajax's run to the Champions League semifinals last season, but the report says he could yet stay and sign a new contract.

12.56 BST: Basel and Switzerland striker Albian Ajeti is set to join West Ham, says the BBC.

Ajeti, 22, will cost £8m but that shouldn't phase the Hammers as they have already splashed a club record £45m on former France Under-21 forward Sebastien Haller this summer.

12.31 BST: Just to put a neat little bow on all things Everton ... until the next update ... they have also pulled out of a move for Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure after having a £30m bid rejected.

The club have already spent £82m this summer on Jonas Lossl, Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Moise Kean but stand by for news about the arrival of Monaco full-back Djibril Sidibe and Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr later.

12.17 BST: Everton have reportedly made a £30m bid to sign Alex Iwobi from Arsenal, says TalkSPORT. The arrival of Nicolas Pepe might limit Iwobi's gametime at the Emirates, but it's unlikely the Gunners will let the winger go with only 24 hours left in the transfer window.

Meanwhile, sources have told ESPN that the Toffees have had a season-long loan bid for Man United defender Chris Smalling rejected.

Smalling has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of £80m centre-back Harry Maguire from Leicester but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep him at Old Trafford.

Smalling is one of seven central defenders in Solskjaer's squad, which also includes Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Axel Tuanzebe. Sources have told ESPN FC that they club are open to offers for Rojo.

12.08 BST: Romelu Lukaku's exit from Manchester United is still a possibility with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that his agent is in London to talk with the club about how much it would take to let him leave for Inter Milan.

Inter have thus far only offered €60m plus add-ons, with United looking to recoup the £75m they spent on him back in 2017.

11.43 BST: Record reports that Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is having talks with his agent Miguel Pinho and club manager Frederico Varandas.

Tottenham and Manchester United are reported to be ready to spend €60m to sign the 25-year-old, but interestingly Record says he's owed €5m compensation if Sporting refuse any bids over €35m. So perhaps he's just meeting with them to pick up his cheque?

11.12 BST: Manchester United will fine Romelu Lukaku for missing training, sources have told ESPN FC.

The striker trained with Belgian side Anderlecht on Monday and Tuesday as he continues to seek a move away from Old Trafford.

11.05 BST: Carl Jenkinson's Arsenal dream is over.

The 27-year-old full-back has moved to Nottingham Forest on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The lifelong Gunners' supporter just didn't make the breakthrough at the Emirates, even after a number of loan spells, and has moved on to further his career.

10.37 BST: Bild claims that Atletico Madrid are ready to pay €35m for Germany defender Matthias Ginter, but Borussia Monchengladbach coach Marco Rose says the 25-year-old is "fundamental for this team."

Arsenal were once linked with Ginter, and they seem to need a new centre-back pretty quickly, while Tottenham have also been reported as a possible destination.

10.13 BST: The Daily Mail reports that former Arsenal and Man United striker Danny Welbeck is in talks with Watford.

The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years and was released by the Gunners this summer.
