- All major completed transfer deals Sturridge, who was released by Liverpool at the end of last season, has never played outside of England in his career, and it has proved a sticking point for Trabzonspor. The club is considering making an improved offer after selling Yusuf Yazici to Lille for €16.5 million. Trabzonspor signed Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth on a two-year loan deal last week but have made signing an additional striker a priority. The Turkish club are concerned that Istanbul-based Besiktas and Galatasaray have expressed an interest in Sturridge as well. Istanbul is a more attractive destination for a foreign player as it is a cosmopolitan city.
