TOP STORY: Man United turn to Lazio to fill Pogba void
Manchester United have already prepared for LAPP -- life after Paul Pogba -- and have identified Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as his replacement, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Pogba has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for months and in particular, a move to Real Madrid, but a tangible offer is yet to materialise. However, as the Premier League season edges closer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is making contingency plans in case Pogba does decide to leave the club.
United have this summer been linked with Newcastle's Sean Longstaff and Sporting's Bruno Fernandes, but AS believe 24-year-old midfielder Milinkovic-Savic is the man United want.
The Serbian is likely to cost £65m, plus add-ons, and United are hopeful of reaching an agreement should Pogba move on, and possibly even if he doesn't.

19.45 BST: Real Betis are closing in on a deal for Napoli's Polish striker Arek Milik, according to Calciomercato. The swoop would be the latest marquee deal for the La Liga side after bringing in French star Nabil Fekir from Lyon earlier this week. A deal for Milik could also add further speculation of Giovani Lo Celso making the move from the Spanish club to Tottenham Hotspur.
18.52 BST: Mexico defender Diego Reyes appears to be on his way out at Fenerbahce and could be heading back to Liga MX with Atlas, with a deal apparently agreed, according to multiple reports in the Turkish press. The 26-year-old has had a mixed time in Europe and was loaned on to Spanish side Leganes for the second half of the 2018-19 season, but didn't get much playing time. Tigres have also been linked with the player this transfer window.
18.43 BST: Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe is expected to leave on loan with several clubs on the radar. The Independent cites that Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig -- where Smith Rowe spent last season -- are interested in him, as well as an unnamed La Liga side. The Gunners are high on the youngster and rewarded him with a five-year contract last summer.
17.59 BST: AS cites Gazzetta dello Sport as reporting that Andre Silva has failed his medical at Monaco, derailing his €30m move from AC Milan, which has in turn jeopardised the Rossoneri's €40m deal for Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa.
17.12 BST: Something has changed in the past week, and now Paulo Dybala is open to leaving Juventus, according to Tuttosport, which adds that the 25-year-old attacker would not reject moves to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain.
16.25 BST: Manchester United have asked Tottenham to keep them informed of developments in Christian Eriksen's future, the Mail reports. The 27-year-old has just a year remaining on his contract and has thus far been unwilling to negotiate an extension, attracting interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico. Should United lose Paul Pogba to Madrid or Juventus, a £70m deal for the Denmark international could be an excellent consolation prize.
15.38 BST: While reports in recent days have suggested that Real Madrid were preparing to offer Paris Saint-Germain Gareth Bale and a pile of cash in exchange for Neymar, L'Equipe writes that Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane doesn't know anything about that.
14.51 BST: Paris Saint-Germain have moved ahead of Juventus in the race for England left-back Danny Rose, whom Tottenham value at £20m, according to the Sun.

13.26 BST: Gremio forward Everton Soares has been linked to Arsenal and new technical director Edu was asked by a fan on tour if the player was any closer to joining the Gunners.
As reported by the Mirror, he said: "let's see, let's see." Well.. it's not a no is it?
12.46 BST: PSG are close to sealing a €32m move for Everton's Idrissa Gueye, sources have told ESPN FC.
Gueye almost moved to Paris in January, so he's a player they have been chasing for some time now. According to sources, PSG and Everton are in advanced talks over Gueye and very close to agreeing that fee could eventually rise closer to €40 million through bonuses.
PSG sporting director Leonardo, who has stayed in France to concentrate on transfer dealings while the squad has travelled to China to continue preseason preparations, admitted over the weekend that Gueye's arrival is a "possibility."
Gueye spoke with coach Thomas Tuchel, as well as chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi in January, sources said, and that contact has never stopped since.
12.20 BST: Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio is unlikely to play again in 2019 after he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his knee, potentially affecting the club's transfer business during the remainder of the window.
Madrid sources last week told ESPN FC that they might have been prepared to let Asensio leave this summer had a "crazy offer" been received, amid an effort to raise funds to try and sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United.
However, sources close to Asensio said he was focused on staying at Madrid and earning a regular starting spot during 2019-20.

11.48 BST: U.S. defender Matt Miazga has rejoined Reading on loan from Chelsea for the season.
11.40 BST: Barcelona still hope to bring in another €150m in player sales this summer as they continue to seek exits for Philippe Coutinho, Malcom and Rafinha Alcantara, sources at the club have told ESPN FC.
Bids would also be considered for Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti and Arturo Vidal, but Barca are not actively looking to move any of those players on at the moment.
11.19 BST: Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to end doubts over his future at Chelsea and sign a five-year deal, a source has told ESPN FC.
The attacker is in the final year of his contract and has been the subject of four failed bids from Bayern Munich, who remain eager to sign him.
However, after a breakthrough in negotiations, there is hope at Chelsea that Hudson-Odoi will finally commit to a new contract, snubbing interest from the Bundesliga giants. The England international is set to put pen to paper on a deal worth around £180,000-a-week, although that could rise to £200,000 after bonuses.
10.54 BST: If you're an Arsenal fan wondering why the club haven't managed to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace yet, you can apparently blame Man United.
The Evening Standard reports that Palace are set on £80m, with the Gunners offering only half that, because United have a sell-on clause which entitles them to 20% of any sale. Which is a lot when you consider how much money we are talking about.
10.40 BST: Chelsea defender and England under-21 captain Jake Clarke-Salter has joined Birmingham on a season-long loan. Oh, and he's signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge too.
10.33 BST: Sticking with Barcelona, it appears the club has made a decision over which left-back they want. Barca are reportedly in advanced talks with Real Betis to sign Junior Firpo.
However, Sport reports that nothing will be done until Betis return from their Mexico tour... which gives Barca some more time to keep looking.
10.20 BST: Let's get today's Neymar update out of the way quickly so we can move on to other things.
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde stonewalled when asked about the Brazilian: "He is another club's players and I do not talk about players from other teams."
But he was a bit more open about a potential bargaining chip in any deal for Neymar.
"Nelson Semedo is a great player with many qualities," he said. "He is very fast and football is moving in that direction. We need him -- he is a very important player for us."
09.55 BST: This is worth a line from a classic Elvis song: "It's now or never, come hold me tight. Kiss me my darling, be mine tonight. Tomorrow will be too late. It's now or never, my love won't wait."
One can almost imagine Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward singing that to Inter Milan when they call to put in another lowball offer for Romelu Lukaku.
The Times reports that he's given them an ultimatum, but so far Inter are still far from United's £80m asking price.
09.37 BST: Bayern Munich want to bring the Leroy Sane transfer saga to an end within the next two weeks, German weekly Sport Bild reports.
The Manchester City winger has been identified as Bayern's main transfer target this summer, with the German club twice granting Sane more time to make a decision on his future. But, with the start of the domestic season less than a month away, the Bundesliga champions want it over.
"You can see that it's not an easy transfer," Bayern coach Niko Kovac told Bild. "But I know that those in charge are working very hard to make it happen. They will do everything to execute this transfer. We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. The public knows that, we know that."
The Bayern coach added that Sane would be aware of his future role at the Allianz Arena, saying: "Leroy knows what he can expect here. If a player with capacities like that joins FC Bayern, he knows his tasks."
09.20 BST: Aston Villa have announced the signing of winger Mahmoud Hassan, also known as Trezequet.

09.14 BST: Sporting Lisbon coach Marcel Keizer says he would love for the transfer window to close right now in order for captain Bruno Fernandes to remain at the club.
The Portuguese midfielder has been strongly linked with a €60m move to Manchester United while Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly also interested in acquiring the 24-year-old, who has a €100m release clause in his contract.
Speaking for the first time in preseason, Keizer told Sport TV as reported in Record: "If it were up to me, the market would close, it's good enough for me. But all the teams are waiting to see what happens with respect to new players and possible transfers. Sporting wants to keep the best but we are not in a position to keep all of our players and something will happen but I do hope they can stay."
Keizer added that, in the event that Fernandes leaves the team, "a player of his quality cannot be replaced."
08.48 BST: Gareth Bale came off the bench to score for Real Madrid in their International Champions Cup clash with Arsenal last night, but after the match coach Zinedine Zidane insisted the Wales forward is still on his way out of the club this summer.
"I don't know what will happen [with Bale's future]," Zidane said after the match at FedExField, which Madrid won on penalties after a 2-2 draw. "He played today, he wanted to and he did a good job. I'm pleased for him. I make the decisions and he played one half. We'll have to see what happens. Nothing has changed, you know the situation. He's still here with us at present."
Zidane was then asked about Bale-Neymar swap deal: "Honestly, I do not know at all about a possible Neymar-Bale swap, so I cannot answer. I do not know at all [laughs]! I said so many things that I cannot give you an answer about one thing or another."
08.22 BST: James Rodriguez has arrived at his home in Madrid where he will remain for a week until his future is decided by Real Madrid, according to Marca.
The Colombia international attacker is currently on holiday and is due to report for preseason duty on July 29.
Napoli are still negotiating with Madrid despite knowing the Spanish giants will not let James join them on an initial loan with a view to a permanent deal, which would be the Italian club's preferred option. Madrid want to sell James this summer and are waiting for the right offer.
Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in signing James, but have yet to begin negotiations with their crosstown rivals.
08.00 BST: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has denied media reports Bayern Munich have contacted Espanyol over the transfer of 22-year-old midfielder Marc Roca.
"I don't believe we've made a bid. We have not contacted the club and there have been no negotiations with them," the Bayern CEO said on the final day of the German club's U.S. tour. He added: "For all I know he has no release clause."
Roca is one of many players linked with Bayern Munich. Last week, Marca claimed the midfielder and the German club already agreed personal terms and, early on Tuesday, reports in Spain said the Bundesliga champions made a first €18m bid for Roca.

Lille reject United move for Pepe but player keen
More from Manchester United who, according to Yahoo Sport France, have seen their advances for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe rebuffed.
United have been tracking Pepe since before the end of last season and Yahoo are suggesting that United have seen their initial bid turned down.
United aren't the only ones interested in the 24-year-old, who is expected to go for around £70 million. Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, Napoli and Everton have all been linked with Pepe who appears keen on a move to England in an effort to join a top European side.
Solksjaer is yet unsure whether Romelu Lukaku will still be a Manchester United player for the big kick-off and, with Inter seemingly still keen on the Belgian, the United boss needs to reinforce his attacking powers.
Pepe scored 23 goals in 41 games in all competitions last season.
Inter eye Dzeko as Lukaku saga endures
With Inter's plans to land Lukaku taking longer than expected, Antonio Conte is reportedly telling club officials to double down on their efforts to land Roma's Edin Dzeko.
According to Calciomercato, Inter's CEO has admitted that the club are after an experienced striker, and Inter have been monitoring the Bosnian's situation all summer.
Conte has admired Dzeko and was keen on bringing him in when he held the reins at Chelsea.
The clubs are still yet to agree a fee, although Metro states a fee could be for £13.5m with his contract set to expire next summer.

- Another Manchester United rumour ... it's no wonder chief exec Ed Woodward has missed the last leg of United's pre-season tour. The Telegraph are reporting that Woodward will need to speed up his move for a centre-back as a result of Toby Alderweireld's release clause, which expires on Friday. They're suggesting that United will try and get a deal for Leicester City's Harry Maguire wrapped up in plenty of time before the weekend because if they can't, they will still have time to land Tottenham's Alderweireld for £25m. The fee is likely to rise to £40m after the expiration of his release clause on Friday. Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers continues to play hardball over Maguire, suggesting that Leicester don't have to sell.
- Arsenal's hopes of landing Wilfried Zaha appear to have taken a knock this evening, with the Daily Mail reporting that Crystal Palace are growing tired of the ongoing negotiations. Arsenal are yet to come anywhere near the Eagles' £80m valuation of the talented winger. Moreover, Roy Hodgson is worried about how much time he might have to find a replacement.
- Sevilla are keen to resign Lazio's Luis Alberto, according to Italian title Corriere Dello Sport. They're saying that Sevilla have lodged a bid for €30m, which falls short of the Italian side's €40m valuation. Sevilla have been tracking the creative midfielder for some time in an effort to bring him back to the Ramon Sanchez stadium for the first time since he left the club in 2013.
