Borussia Dortmund managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that the German heavyweights are planning to sign on-loan Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi on a permanent basis.

BVB unveiled Paco Alcacer, who had been at the club on a loan deal from Barcelona, as a new permanent signing on Friday after exercising the option to buy the striker for €23 million.

Hakimi only moved to the Westfalenstadion on a two-year loan deal in July, but after an impressive start to the season, Dortmund are planning to sign him outright.

"Dear Paco Alcacer, welcome to Borussia Dortmund," Watze said, at the club's general meeting, as per Sport. "We hope to do the same with Achraf Hakimi, but it will not be easy."

While Dortmund had a purchase option on Alcacar, they only have first refusal on Hakimi, meaning that the Spanish giants could stand in the way of any deal.

Hakimi has been one of the stars of Dortmund's excellent stat to the season, having featured eight times so far this term, scoring in the 7-0 demolition of Nurnberg.

He was also named Bundesliga Rookie of the Month in September, and has established himself as a key man in Herve Renard's Morocco side.

After winning the Champions League with Les Merengues last term, Hakimi started all three matches for the Atlas Lions at the World Cup.
