Las Palmas loan Loic Remy to Getafe for remainder of La Liga season

Former Chelsea forward Loic Remy has joined Getafe on loan until the end of the season.

The Frenchman arrives from fellow La Liga side Las Palmas, who he joined on a free transfer in the summer following the expiration of his Stamford Bridge contract.

The 31-year-old netted five goals in 12 La Liga games for Las Palmas but had not played since Dec. 20 -- against Getafe.

Remy reportedly fell out with Las Palmas manager Paco Jemez last month after arriving late for a team dinner.

A statement on Getafe's website said: "Getafe CF and UD Las Palmas have reached an agreement for the transfer of footballer Loic Remy.

"The French striker has on his record a Premier League achieved in 2015 with Chelsea, also winning the Capital One Cup in the same year, plus a Ligue 1 with Olympique Lyon in 2007.''
