Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa hopes to stay in La Liga

Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has said he would like to continue playing in La Liga but will not rush a decision on his future.

Ochoa, who spent last season on loan at Granada from Malaga, becomes a free agent next month.

The 31-year-old is a reported target for both Marseille and Napoli, while La Liga side Las Palmas are also interested.

"We have to wait and see what happens," Ochoa told Radio Marca Claro. "We have to put the options on the table and evaluate them with calmness.

"I like Spain, and I would like to continue in La Liga."

Ochoa said he was focused on helping Mexico to do well at the Confederations Cup, adding: "What I need to do is do the talking on the pitch and we shall then see if my future is in Spain or elsewhere.

"My attention right now is on the national team and helping Mexico achieve good results. The rest will come later.

"But I'm calm, I don't put pressure on myself. There's a time when you learn to separate things, not to be stressed or in a hurry otherwise you can make bad decisions."

Ochoa played every La Liga game for Granada last season and was voted Player of the Season by supporters.

However, the club were relegated, finishing at the bottom of the table with only 20 points from 38 games. Although they conceded a league-high 82 goals, Ochoa made a league-best 163 saves.
