Everton interested in Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru - sources

Everton have joined the chase for KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Onyekuru has scored 19 goals and laid on nine assists in all competitions this season, including five goals in his last six games for Eupen.

The attacker's performances have brought him to the attention of several clubs across Europe with scouts travelling to Belgium to watch the 19-year-old.

Scottish champions Celtic tried to sign Onyekuru during the January transfer window, but Eupen managed to retain his services.

Celtic have continued to keep tabs on Onyekuru, while Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth have also shown an interest in the exciting forward.

However, Ronald Koeman's Everton are looking to step up their interest in Onyekuru.

Everton are expected to be busy in this summer's transfer window and they have they finances to test Eupen's resolve to keep hold of Onyekuru.

Koeman has put faith in youth at Goodison Park after signing Ademola Lookman from Charlton in January and giving Tom Davies and Dominic Calvin-Lewin extended runs in the team this season.
