West Ham track Godoy Cruz striker Jaime Ayovi - sources

West Ham United are considering a move for Ecuador striker Jaime Ayovi, sources in South America have told ESPN FC.

West Ham have been searching for striking reinforcements all summer as they look to add to Slaven Bilic's attacking options.

Carlos Bacca, Alexandre Lacazette, Christian Benteke and Michy Batshuayi have all been linked with moves to West Ham, but the club have been unable to bring in a high-profile striker as yet.

It means the club are now considering alternatives and sources said Ayovi, who plays for Argentine club Godoy Cruz, has emerged on the radar after impressing for club and country in the last two seasons.

West Ham have been aware of the 28-year-old for some time as he is a strike partner for current West Ham forward Enner Valencia in the Ecuador side.

The powerful forward has netted six goals in 16 games in Argentina's Primera Division this season and he was a member of the Ecuador side that reached the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario this summer.
