Sevilla demand at least €40 million for striker Kevin Gameiro

Sevilla will not sell star striker Kevin Gameiro for less than €40 million, club vice-president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco has said.

The Europa League champions have had a busy summer ahead of Jorge Samapoli's first campaign with the club, signing Brazilian Ganso, Palermo's Franco Vazquez,  Atletico Madrid's Matias Kranevitter on loan, ex-Sampdoria winger Joaquin Correa, Pablo Sarabia from Getafe and Hiroshi Kiyotake from Hannover.

Meanwhile, Midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has left for Paris Saint-Germain and playmaker Ever Banega moved to Inter Milan, but Del Nido was insistent that Gameiro would not be joining them in leaving Sevilla.

"It is true that there are clubs bidding for Gameiro, but we will not sell for less than 40 million," Del Nido told Radio Sevilla.

"For €39m or €38.5m, we will not sell. We want Kevin to lead the project of Jorge Sampaoli."

Gameiro, 29, has been linked to a move to Barcelona or a return to PSG after scoring 29 goals in last season.
