AZ Alkmaar's Vincent Janssen wants Tottenham move, frustrated by delays

AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen says he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur "as soon as possible" and added he is frustrated by his club's refusal to negotiate with the Premier League side.

Janssen, 22, visited Tottenham's training ground two weeks ago to discuss a move to White Hart Lane, while Spurs officials, including chairman Daniel Levy, have travelled to Netherlands for talks with AZ in the past fortnight.

The Netherlands international, who scored against England at Wembley in March, finished last season as the Eredivisie's top scorer with 27 goals in 34 games and has said he is ready to make a "step up" this summer.

Last week, AZ technical director Max Huiberts revealed a Spurs bid for the player had been rejected and that the delays in agreeing a deal are frustrating Janssen.

"I've made my choice clear to the club," Janssen told AD on Thursday.

"In my view, Tottenham Hotspur have made a big offer. There was an offer of about €18 million. But AZ doesn't even want to sit at the table.

"I would like to start preseason somewhere else as soon as possible. This is frustrating."
