Rennes ace Ousmane Dembele snubs Claudio Ranieri and Leicester City

Rennes forward Ousmane Dembele has told Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri that he will not be joining the Premier League champions next season.

Dembele, 18, picked up the Ligue 1 young player of the year award at the weekend after a sensational season with Rennes and has been linked with top European clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are said to be monitoring the situation too.

Having scored 12 goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, Dembele is wanted by Ranieri at Leicester but appears to have opted for another club instead.

"Yes, I had Claudio Ranieri on the phone," Dembele told Ouest France. "I was surprised to have him. I told him I will not go to Leicester.

"I know where I'm going -- it's definitive. I spent six wonderful years at Stade Rennais... I'm proud of what I've achieved at the club."
