Serbia appoint Slavoljub Muslin to succeed Radovan Curcic as coach

The Football Association of Serbia has appointed Slavoljub Muslin as the new coach of the national team.

Muslin, 62, is a former Red Star Belgrade player and is widely experienced at club level, having previously coached Red Star, Bordeaux, Standard Liege and several other teams.

He replaces Radovan Curcic, who was sacked last month having failed to qualify for the European Championship. Serbia finished on four points from eight qualifying matches in Group I, with Portugal, Albania and Denmark ahead of them.

The national team was also deducted three points by UEFA after their game with Albania was abandoned due to crowd trouble.

Muslin begins his tenure with a friendly against Cyprus later this month.
