Dinamo Moscow ban Igor Denisov, add him to transfer list after coach clash

MOSCOW -- Dinamo Moscow have placed Russia midfielder Igor Denisov on the transfer list and suspended him from all first-team activity following a clash with the coach.

The club said Denisov, 30, would train on his own and was up for sale after "interfering in the work of the head coach," Stanislav Cherchesov.

Denisov is a regular for the Russian national team and a former captain. He started for Russia in their last competitive game, last month's abandoned Euro 2016 qualifier against Montenegro.

Russian sports media reported that the likely reason for Denisov's clash with Cherchesov was the coach's surprise decision to hand a rare start to Boris Rotenberg, a son of Dinamo's billionaire executive director of the same name, for a derby clash with Lokomotiv Moscow on Saturday.
