Kacper Przybylko's late goal gives Union tie with Revolution

Kacper Przybylko's goal in the 88th minute propelled the host Philadelphia Union to a 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution on Wednesday.

The Union (1-2-2, 5 points) avoided a tough loss as Przybylko headed a difficult shot in the box.

Teal Bunbury had scored in the 85th minute to give the Revolution a short-lived 1-0 advantage, his 62nd career MLS goal. The point for the draw moved the Revolution to 2-1-2, good for an Eastern Conference-leading eight points.

The Revolution's early aggressive play earned them a corner kick in the 13th minute, but the cross was quickly cleared.

In the 14th minute, Philadelphia's Sergio Santos drew a foul and a free kick from about 30 yards out. The service into the box was solid, but the flag went up for offside.

Santos nearly scored in the 32nd minute when he redirected a shot in the box. Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner was in good position to deflect the shot, however.

Without much open space in the midfield, the half ended without a score. Carles Gil's passing was stellar for the Revolution in the opening five minutes of the second half, with Gil sending a pass through to Tajon Buchanan, who shot the ball high over the net in the 49th minute.

Seven minutes later, Gil fired a shot from the top of the box which sailed high.

Looking for an offensive spark for his side, Union head coach Jim Curtin inserted offensive substitutes Anthony Fontana and Cory Burke two minutes later.

Philadelphia's Jamiro Monteiro appeared on the verge of the game's first goal in the 73rd minute, but he stumbled as he was about to shoot from eight yards out.

Gil then sent a cross into the box in the 80th minute and Bunbury headed the shot barely wide of the net. Five minutes later, however, Bunbury did find the back of the net, scoring while sliding to the ground to give the Revolution a 1-0 lead.

After the Union equalized, neither team scored again through the final two minutes of regulation plus four minutes of stoppage time.
