ATK Mohun Bagan moved within a point of leaders Mumbai City FC with a dominant 2-0 win over Bengaluru FC on Tuesday.

Roy Krishna put the defending champions ahead from the spot, having been brought down by Pratik Chowdhary inside the box, before stepping up to convert the penalty. Marcelinho doubled the lead just before half time with a stunning free kick from the edge of the box, finding the top right corner with a curling effort.

While the result means the race for the top spot will likely go down to the wire, the loss puts BFC in serious danger of missing the playoffs. They remain sixth with 19 points, with three more games to play, four points behind the fourth-placed Hyderabad. Their task doesn't get easier any time soon, as they face leaders Mumbai on February 15.

ATKMB are up against Jamshedpur FC on February 14.
