Chicago, which entered with the worst record in MLS, had complete control of the flow of the game and led 3-0 at the break on goals from Robert Beric, Fabian Herbers and Alvaro Medran. The Fire added a late goal for the final score.

Houston (3-4-6, 15 points) is winless in its past four matches.

Chicago's first score came in the 15th minute when a Jonathan Bornstein cross found Beric in between Houston defenders. Beric first-timed it home past goalie Marko Maric for his third goal in as many games.

Eight minutes later it was 2-0. Herbers made a run behind the Houston defense, taking a pass from Ignacio Aliseda and slotting the ball past Maric, who had come off his line in hopes of making the save.

Chicago made it 3-0 in the 40th minute when Medran took off on a speedy run from midfield, beat three Houston defenders along the way, then pushed a right-footed shot past Maric.

The final goal came in the 89th minute when the Fire got a break from video review. C.J. Sapong had a penalty kick saved by Maric, but after review, it was ruled that Maric had come off his line too soon. On the retake, Sapong easily put it away for a 4-0 lead.

It could have been worse for the Dynamo, as the Fire had a penalty kick and a goal called back following video review in the first 45 minutes.
