Teenager Saka leads Arsenal to win in Frankfurt

Arsenal teenager Bukayo Saka scored a lovely goal and set up two  more as the Gunners beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 in their Europa League Group F opener in Germany on Thursday night.

An entertaining end-to-end first half saw both teams miss quality chances before Arsenal opened the scoring on a 38th minute counter-attack with Joseph Willock firing home with the help of a wicked deflection to beat Kevin Trapp.

Arsenal backup goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a number of quality saves in the opening 45 minutes, including one just before half-time from a close-range Andre Silva shot to preserve the visitors' 1-0 lead at the break.

Arsenal brought on new arrival Nicolas Pepe on the hour mark in search of a second goal, but it was the home side that continued to force the issue and Martinez was repeatedly called into action to keep the Gunners in the lead.

Frankfurt's way back into the match became more complicated just before the 80-minute mark when Dominik Kohr picked up his second yellow card for a foul on Saka, leaving his team to finish with 10 players.

Shortly after Frankfurt were made to pay when Saka finished off another rapid-fire counter-attack with an unstoppable left-footed shot and then took advantage of a defensive miscue to set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Arsenal's third to reach the final scoreline.

Next up for Arsenal in the Europa League is a home match against Standard Liege on Oct. 3, while Frankfurt are away to Portuguese club Guimaraes on the same day.
