Sweden beat England with goals from Sofia Jakobsson and Anna Anvegard

England Women were beaten 2-0 by Sweden in an international friendly played at Rotherham's New York Stadium on Sunday.

England enjoyed most of the possession but couldn't turn that into goals as they suffered defeat on home soil.

It was a day to remember for captain Steph Houghton, who won her 100th cap.

Sofia Jakobsson put Sweden in front after 20 minutes when she curled a fine effort into the back of the net from just outside the area.

Just after the half-hour mark Anna Anvegard doubled the advantage from close range, and England could find no way back into the match.
