Tottenham end Chelsea's unbeaten start to season with Wembley thrashing

Tottenham ended Chelsea's unbeaten start to the season after beating them 3-1 at Wembley.

Goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min put Spurs three up before Olivier Giroud grabbed a late consolation.

Spurs climb above Chelsea into third in the table with the win.

Tottenham took the lead after eight minutes through Alli, who headed home from Christian Eriksen's free kick -- his fifth goal in six games against Chelsea.

The home side should have doubled their lead two minutes later after Eriksen picked out Son, but his close range strike went over.

Eden Hazard fell under the challenge of Juan Foyth in the Spurs box, but referee Martin Atkinson waved play on.

Kane made the most of the early pressure from Tottenham by putting them two up after 16 minutes with a fine effort from distance, though was helped by David Luiz moving out of the way of his shot.

Chelsea tried to control possession in an attempt to get back into the game, but the chances kept coming Tottenham's way, with Foyth heading just wide from a corner.

The second half started with Chelsea applying more pressure, but after 54 minutes, Son led Spurs on the counterattack, beating several men in a 40-yard run and slotting past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Substitute Ross Barkley nearly found N'Golo Kante with a piercing cross, but the midfielder was not tall enough to get a solid contact on it.

After 68 minutes, Kane should have sealed the points for Spurs, but his shot from six yards somehow went over, before Alli missed a similar chance soon after.

Chelsea's goal came with five minutes of time remaining through Giroud's header, but Spurs held on to claim the three points.
