Ten-man Cambridge hold on to beat Sutton in FA Cup

Cambridge beat non-league Sutton 1-0 in the first round of the FA Cup despite playing most of the game with 10 men.Already on a yellow card, George Maris was sent off five minutes before half-time when he was deemed to have dived under the challenge of Dean Beckwith.Despite their numerical disadvantage the League Two side took the lead in the final minute of the half through Jabo Ibehre, who volleyed into the far corner after Jevani Brown's effort came back off the bar.The National League side should still have been level before the interval but Craig Dundas headed Aswad Thomas' cross over from close range.Kieron Cadogan struck a fierce effort which went wide via the angle of post and bar five minutes into the second period, while at the other end Ibehre blasted an effort which hit the inside of the post and somehow stayed out.In the dying moments of stoppage time, David Forde denied Sutton a replay with a terrific flying save to keep out Adam Coombes' drive.
