Iraq registered their first win of the U17 World Cup as Mohammed Dawood struck twice in a 3-0 rout of Chile at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Dawood struck in the sixth and 68th minutes, while Chile conceded an own goal through substitute Diego Valencia in the 81st minute of the Group F match.

Iraq, who had drawn their opening match against Mexico 1-1, are now two points behind group leaders England (six points). Mexico are at third place with one point while Chile are yet to win a point.

Dawood gave the Asian champions the lead with a right-footed shot from a difficult angle soon after the match started. He made it three goals from two matches when he curled in a free-kick to the bottom right corner of the net in the 68th minute.

Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Cancino denied Dawood a hat trick from a penalty in the second-half stoppage time.
