Halifax 4-0 Chester FC

A stunning first half powered Halifax to a 4-0 thumping of Chester in the Vanarama National League.
Tom Denton headed the hosts into an early lead after Reece Hall-Johnson had cleared Danny Clarke's drive off the line.
Scott Garner was denied a second when his shot was deflected against Denton on the line in an offside position. Denton then narrowly avoided an own goal when he deflected Lucas Dawson's free-kick just wide.
Scott McManus doubled the lead after Denton caused problems from Clarke's ball in and Clarke nodded in the third from Josh MacDonald's cross.
Amazingly, MacDonald made it four before the interval with his first goal for the club and could even have had another in stoppage time.
Unsurprisingly, the second half was quieter but there were chances at either end just after the hour, Jordan Gough blocking man of the match MacDonald's effort before home keeper Sam Johnson saved from substitute Harry White.
