Tranmere see off Maidenhead to keep promotion push on track

Josh Ginnelly scored on his Tranmere debut as his side held on for maximum points from a narrow 3-2 National League victory over Maidenhead at Prenton Park to keep their promotion push on track.
Rovers took an early lead just four minutes in as James Norwood fired home a low shot to beat goalkeeper Carl Pentney from 20 yards out for his 11th goal of the season.
Striker Norwood turned provider four minutes after the break as he set up Burnley loanee Ginnelly for Tranmere's second but, just six minutes later, Sam Barratt reduced the deficit as he flicked the ball in at the near post.
Second-half substitute Jeff Hughes extended the hosts' lead a minute after coming on with his long-range effort after 78 minutes before Maidenhead struck back through Remy Clerima with six minutes remaining.
