Coventry frustrated by Crawley

Coventry failed to take full advantage of other results around them in the race for the Sky Bet League Two play-offs as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Crawley.Town, who had gone seven games without a win before Tuesday, toppled high-flyers Exeter in midweek and almost did the same to the Sky Blues.Mark Robins' side could have gone two points clear of Mansfield in eighth with victory after the Stags drew with Chesterfield in the early kick-off.Youngster Jordan Roberts struck for the visitors to the Ricoh Arena with his weak foot just before the break. However, with 16 minutes left on the clock Marc McNulty nabbed his second goal in as many games to secure his side a point.Coventry could have led early on had Duckens Nazon's deflected strike hit the other side of a post.Wing-back Lewis Young put the ball on a plate for Roberts, who duly obliged by firing home, after cutting the ball back following a surging run down the right in the 42nd minute.Mark Randall nearly put the visitors 2-0 two minutes after the restart when he drove an effort against the bar.Roberts was denied a second, this time from a free-kick, by a great save from Lee Burge.McNulty finished a great team move to level in the 74th minute. Ryan Haynes played the ball in to the box with Nazon linking well to tee up McNulty to slot home on the half-turn.
