Billy Kee scores from the spot as high-flying Accrington beat Morecambe

Billy Kee scored the winning goal as title-chasing Accrington closed the gap to one point on leaders Luton with a 1-0 win over Morecambe.Kee celebrated his 21st goal of the season, firing home from the penalty spot in injury time in the first half after Kayden Jackson had been felled by Morecambe defender Dean Winnard to send Stanley to a seventh successive home win.It was a scrappy game, with Stanley dominating the first half. Scott Brown stung the fingers of Barry Roche while the goalkeeper's legs denied Jackson.Gregg Wylde had Morecambe's first real chance on 28 minutes when he ran with the ball into a decent position but his strike was over the bar.Stanley were awarded a penalty in the second minute of first-half added time, with Jackson's pace causing problems and Kee, who has been strong from the spot this season, made no mistake.Morecambe created the better chances in the second half. Veteran striker Kevin Ellison curled an effort just wide while Brown's goal-bound effort for Stanley was blocked by Winnard.Alex Kenyon thought he had drawn Morecambe level but his glancing header was inches over on the hour while Steven Old also saw his header cleared off the line and the rebound just off-target as the Shrimps remain in 21st spot.
