Kayden Jackson strike sees Stanley sink Crewe

Kayden Jackson scored the winning goal as Accrington stayed in second spot with a 1-0 victory over struggling Crewe. The Alex, who dropped to 22nd place, were unlucky not to snatch a point but poor finishing cost them as Stanley recorded their eighth win in nine games.Accrington created the better early chances with Jackson firing narrowly wide after eight minutes with goalkeeper Ben Garratt beaten, and both Liam Nolan and Jordan Clark denied.Crewe grew into the game and Jordan Bowery had their first real chance in the 36th minute but his low strike was straight at keeper Aaron Chapman, while skipper Paul Green fired into the side-netting.Stanley opened the scoring after 42 minutes when Jackson scored his 12th goal of the season, firing home from the right from Clark's pass.Crewe started the second half well with Charlie Kirk's strike saved by Chapman and they should have levelled in the 62nd minute when winger Kirk raced onto a loose ball and smashed it goal-wards with Mark Hughes clearing the effort off the line.Bowery also had a great chance to level after 72 minutes but, unmarked, he rifled his effort wide.
