Callum Camps denies Maidstone at the death

Callum Camps held his nerve to score an injury-time free-kick and earn Sky Bet League One side Rochdale a dramatic 1-1 draw away to non-league Maidstone United in the FA Cup first round.Bobby-Joe Taylor's first-half penalty looked to have sealed a famous victory for the National League outfit but Camps found the bottom corner with the last kick of the game to earn a replay.Rochdale were not at their best, lacking creativity in attack and were often caught out by the searing pace of the lively Jamar Loza on the counter-attack.Loza was brought down in the area by Niall Canavan and Taylor netted from 12 yards to give the hosts the lead in the 21st minute. Steven Davies had a goal ruled out for offside on the half-hour mark as Dale struggled to get to grips with Stones' artificial surface. The visitors enjoyed a strong start to the second half though as Davies' clever flick released Oliver Rathbone but he could not beat Lee Worgan at his near post.Davies then nodded just over the crossbar as the visitors began to turn the screw, although both Liam Enver-Marum and Alex Flisher came close to doubling Maidstone's lead.Taylor came within inches of a second as he fired narrowly over with just five minutes left but a moment of quality from Camps ensured the sides will do battle once again for a place in the second round.
