America set up Real Madrid CWC semifinal after Jeonbuk win

OSAKA, Japan -- A brace from Silvio Romero saw Mexican side Club America set up a match with Real Madrid in the Club World Cup semifinals after coming from behind to beat South Korean team Jeonbuk Motors 2-1.

No South Korean club has won the FIFA Club World Cup and that run will continue as the AFC Champions League winners were knocked out despite going ahead through Kim Bo-Kyung in the first half.

But the CONCACAF champions came back in the second as Romero headed home in the 58th minute before his 74th minute shot deflected off two Jeonbuk players and into the net for the winner.

Club America lost to China's Guangzhou Evergrande in the first round of last year's tournament.

They were crowned CONCACAF champions for the second year in a row in April, after beating compatriots Tigres 2-0 away and 2-1 at home in the two-legged final.

The Club World Cup features international football's six continental champions plus a team from the host nation.
