Roma overtook Napoli to move into second place in Serie A with a 2-0 victory at Crotone on Sunday.

Radja Nainggolan and Edin Dzeko scored in each half at the Stadio Ezio Scida -- the latter having missed an early penalty -- as Roma closed to within four points of league leaders Juventus, who face Cagliari later on Sunday.

Roma had the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute after Mohamed Salah was fouled by Gianmarco Ferrari, but Dzeko dragged his effort wide of the target.

The visitors found the breakthrough after 40 minutes, however, when Nainggolan collected Salah's pass before firing a low strike past Alex Cordaz.

Roma had opportunities to double their lead after the break but were twice denied by the woodwork -- Dzeko first saw his deflected shot hit the bar, before Federico Fazio hit the post with a header after getting on the end of Leandro Paredes' delivery.

The Giallorossi did manage to make it two in the 77th minute, with Paredes playing the ball in to Salah, who then squared to Dzeko for a simple finish.
