Schalke storm back to defeat Darmstadt

Schalke came from behind to make it seven games unbeaten in the Bundesliga and 12 in all competitions with a 3-1 win over Darmstadt.

Sandro Sirigu's pass sent Marcel Heller through to skip past Ralf Fahrmann and slot in his first goal of the season early on, but Schalke levelled when Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's cross was headed in by Sead Kolasinac from close range.

A foul by Aytac Sulu on Leon Goretzka inside the area gave Choupo-Moting the chance to put the hosts in front, but his spot-kick was saved by Michael Esser's foot as the Schalke striker sent his shot straight down the middle.

The Cameroon forward made up for that miss by turning in Max Meyer's cross to put Schalke in front on the hour mark before Alessandro Schopf wrapped up the Royal Blues' win in the last minute.
