Jake Hessenthaler bags winner for Gillingham

Jake Hessenthaler's second-half goal sent Gillingham to the top of League One after a 1-0 victory over Doncaster.
Hessenthaler's strike was deemed to have crossed the line after 66 minutes for the Gills, who leapfrogged previous leaders Walsall and maintained their own unbeaten start to the season.
The hosts enjoyed the majority of possession in an unmemorable first half but the best two openings fell to Doncaster.
Andy Williams first released Curtis Main a minute before the interval, with the lively striker denied one-on-one by Gills stopper Stuart Nelson, before Oscar Gobern fired into the side-netting when well-placed.
Gillingham had earlier looked dangerous down the left flank through the hard-running Emmanuel Osadebe and Bradley Garmston but were limited to half-chances by a resolute Rovers defence.
After the break, Richard Chaplow shot just wide for Rovers but it was the hosts who fired the decisive blow midway through the second half after a goalmouth scramble. Bradley Dack's cross found substitute Hessenthaler and his powerful half-volley secured the points.
