Feyenoord Rotterdam 2-0 Rijeka

Karim El Ahmadi and Lex Immers lifted Feyenoord from the foot of Group G as they gained revenge over Rijeka. The Dutchmen, who lost 3-1 in Croatia last month on a night when Andrej Kramaric plundered a 14-minute hat-trick, took an early grip of the game and never looked like releasing it as they eased to a 2-0 victory.El Ahmadi fired them in front with just eight minutes gone and Lex Immers' 20th-minute header gave them the comfort they needed to see out a win which left them in second place behind leaders Sevilla.Rijeka, one of only four survivors from the second qualifying round of the competition, are yet to score away from home in the group and rarely came close to addressing that record in Rotterdam.Feyenoord started in determined fashion with Colin Kazim-Richards sending a fifth-minute header wide. But it was his knock-down which allowed midfielder El Ahmadi to open the scoring with a right-foot shot three minutes later. The home side doubled their lead within 12 minutes gone when midfielder Immers headed Jens Toornstra's inswinging corner past keeper Ivan Vargic to put them firmly in control.Feyenoord keeper Kenneth Vermeer was called upon for the first time with 26 minutes gone, although he was not tested by Kramaric's shot from distance, and order was restored when Marko Leskovic had to block Kazim-Richards' effort eight minutes before the break.Toornstra fired over from distance as the Eredivisie side attempted to end the game as a contest, but Vermeer had to be at his best seconds later to beat away Kramaric's effort from 12 yards with Rijeka battling for a way back.Kramaric was shooting on sight in an attempt to reel Feyenoord in, but the home side saw out time in relative comfort to re-ignite their hopes of emerging from the group.ends
