Max Powers Tranmere to overdue win

Goals from Shamir Fenelon, James Rowe and Max Power gave Tranmere their first league win since August as Micky Adams' troubled side overcame Portsmouth 3-1 at Prenton Park.Fenelon gave Tranmere a dream second-minute start from close range after Power's corner confused Portsmouth's defence.Paul Jones saved a volley from Fenelon three minutes later but Pompey's Dan Butler should have scored with an unmarked header 11 minutes in.Owain Fon Williams' fine one-handed stop denied Marcus Bean from the edge of Tranmere's penalty area after Will Aimson was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg.Fenelon opened the second-half with a vicious long range strike that Jones turned away for a corner before a deflected 18-yard strike from Pompey top scorer Jed Wallace pulled Portsmouth level shortly before the hour.But Rowe had time to pick his spot when he put Tranmere back in front from 12 yards, finding the far corner with a flourish on 68 minutes.And Power sealed the win when he tucked away the rebound after seeing his 78th minute penalty saved following Wallace's foul on Fenelon for his fourth goal in five games.
