Orlando Pride secure 3-1 victory over Houston Dash
The Orlando Pride defeated the Houston Dash 3-1 at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday.
Carson Pickett opened the scoring with a header in the 29th minute off a cross from Cori Dyke. Angelina doubled the lead early in the second half with a stunning right-footed shot from outside the box.
Houston responded quickly as Yuki Nagasato found the net just two minutes later, assisted by Elin Rubensson. Despite their efforts, the Dash couldn't find an equalizer.
Marta sealed Orlando's win in stoppage time with a left-footed strike to make it 3-1 on an assist by Barbra Banda.
The Pride extended their regular-season unbeaten streak to 23 games, the longest in NWSL history.
Orlando (16-6-0) remains atop the standings, while Houston (4-5-13) continues to struggle at the bottom.
Up next: The Dash will host the Chicago Red Stars at 8 p.m. ET on Friday at Shell Energy Stadium (NWSL+). The Washington Spirit will face the Pride at 5 p.m. ET Oct. 6 at Inter&Co Stadium (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN+).
