Qarabag beat Sheriff Tiraspol to reach UCL playoff round

Azerbaijani club Qarabag advanced to the Champions League playoff round with a 2-1 win away to Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova.

After last week's first leg finished goalless, Dino Ndlovu scored his third goal of the campaign to put the visitors ahead on the brink of halftime.

Sherriff then needed two to overcome an away goal, but it was Qarabag who added another through Michel's 86th-minute header, and Ziguy Badibanga's late penalty was little consolation for the hosts.

After all the other third-round ties conclude on Wednesday, the playoff round draw is set for Friday.
