Substitute Arkadiusz Milik fired a second-half double as Napoli moved top of Serie A following a 3-1 home win against Bologna.

Striker Milik, a 61st-minute replacement for Manolo Gabbiadini, followed up his midweek Champions League double to score twice in the space of nine minutes in the second period after Bologna striker Simone Verdi had cancelled out Jose Callejon's opener for the hosts.

Bologna played out the final nine minutes with 10 men after Swedish defender Emil Krafth was shown a straight red card for his foul on Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Callejon headed Napoli into a 14th-minute lead when he connected with a cross from Lorenzo Insigne, whose shot forced Bologna goalkeeper Junior Costa into a fine save soon after.

Gabbiadini and Insigne were both denied by Junior Costa either side of the break as Napoli looked to increase their lead, but Bologna equalised through Verdi's superb effort from outside the box in the 56th minute.

Napoli regained the lead in the 67th minute when Milik raced on to Marek Hamsik's fine throughball and fired home an angled drive into the bottom corner.

Milik, who scored both Napoli's goals in their 2-1 win in Kiev on Tuesday night, took his tally for the season to six when he rifled another low shot into the bottom corner from outside the area following Allan's headed pass in the 78th minute.

Bologna were reduced to 10 men when Krafth was sent off for his 81st-minute challenge on Zielinski before Allan went close to adding a fourth for Napoli in time added on.
