Borussia Dortmund turn tables on 10-man Hoffenheim

Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 3-1 and reduce the deficit on Bayern Munich at the top of the table to eight points once again.

Sebastian Rudy was Hoffenheim's hero and villain, first putting them in front and then earning a red card which helped Dortmund turn the game around.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Adrian Ramos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the last 10 minutes for Thomas Tuchel's men, who keep the Bundesliga title race alive.

Hoffenheim took the lead in the 25th minute when Rudy led them forward and set up Kevin Volland for a shot which Roman Burki only parried to the side.

Rudy had continued his run forward and was in the right place to pounce on the loose ball and thread it through Burki's legs to give Nagelsmann's men the lead.

Burki made amends for that mistake by preventing Volland from making it two soon after, as the first whistles started to be heard at the Westfalenstadion.

They nearly turned to cheers when Marco Reus, who was making his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Dortmund, curled a free-kick over the wall, but Oliver Baumann turned his effort past the post.

Dortmund got even closer to scoring early in the second half when substitute Ilkay Gundogan's shot struck the right-hand post, with Reus turning the rebound over.

Rudy was given his marching orders for a professional foul in midfield and Hoffenheim resisted with 10 men for just 20 minutes before Dortmund levelled, with Gundogan setting up Mkhitaryan 10 minutes from time.

Five minutes later, Lukasz Piszczek's cross was headed in by Ramos and there was even time for Aubameyang to boost his tally for the season, converting Mkhitaryan's pass with the last kick of the game.
