Jermaine Anderson bags brace as Peterborough United ease past Crewe Alexandra

Jermaine Anderson struck a brace as Peterborough romped to a 5-1 League One win at bottom club Crewe. The midfielder took his tally to five in four games as Posh inflicted more misery on the Railwaymen, whose fans called for boss Steve Davies to be sacked.Jon Taylor took down Anderson's cross and drilled a low finish past Ben Garratt in the sixth minute.Crewe's response saw Billy Bingham and Brad Inman force Ben Alnwick into saves and Ryan Colclough's persistence almost paid off as he slid a shot narrowly wide of the post and Callum Saunders curled a left-foot strike past the angle. But the Cheshire side's defence was cut open with alarming regularity. Graham Westley's men took a firm grip on the game after the restart blasting three goals inside seven minutes.First Conor Washington took down Erhun Oztumer's flighted throughball and clipped a finish past the onrushing Garratt in the 47th minute. And the Crewe keeper was powerless when Anderson's drive from 25 yards took a big deflection off a defender and flew into the corner a minute later. Then Oztumer broke clear to set up Lee Angol who drove the fourth into the far corner in the 54th minute.Colclough cut the deficit with a 20-yard drive which cannoned in off the post in the 64th minute. But Anderson wrapped things up when he fired in his second with another long-range effort hitting the far corner with eight minutes left.
