PSG v Paris FC
Paris Saint-Germain stunned in French Cup by neighbors Paris FC
Jonathan Ikoné returned to haunt his former club as Paris FC claimed an historic 1-0 win over neighbours Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France.
Ikone, a former PSG youth-team product, scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute to give the underdogs a first-ever win over their illustrious opponents.
The hosts repeatedly threatened the Paris FC goal but their best chance fell to Warren Zaïre-Emery, who fired against the bar in the 87th minute as the defending champions bowed out.
The two sides were meeting for only the fourth time in their history, but just eight days since their previous meeting at the same venue, which PSG won 2-1 in Ligue 1.
Paris FC started well as Alimami Gory forced an early save from Lucas Chevalier, but the favourites soon got on top with Vitinha coming close before Bradley Barcola miscued a pair of chances approaching the half-hour mark.
Visiting keeper Obed Nkambadio had a busy night, saving from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Gonçalo Ramos either side of the interval as the home side pressed.
Zaire-Emery was denied from a tight angle and Barcola had a shot blocked before Nkambadio proved equal to an effort from Ousmane Dembélé.
Paris FC snatched the lead with 16 minutes remaining when they stole the ball off the hosts on halfway and fellow substitute Ilan Kebbal threaded a ball from the right side of the box which Ikone clinically converted.
The home side predictably poured forward in search of a leveller, but after Zaire-Emery's near-miss, efforts from Désiré Doué and Vitinha both went wide of the target as the visitors held on for a famous win.
