Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos tells Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp to 'stick to his own business'

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has suggested that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should "stick to his own business" because he keeps bringing up the challenge on Mohamed Salah during last season's Champions League final.

Ramos, 32, also said that Klopp continues to use the Salah injury as a reason for Liverpool's 3-1 loss to deflect attention from the German's infamous losing record in finals.

Liverpool's top scorer Salah was forced off injured in the first half of the game in Kiev following a tangle with Ramos, with the defender also involved in a collision which resulted in Reds goalkeeper Loris Karius suffering a concussion, before he made two crucial mistakes for Madrid's first and third goals.

"I'm not going to highlight this again," Ramos said when asked about the incident. "I've given my view before of what happened, it was not intentional. [Salah] pulled my arm first.

"It's not the first final [Klopp] has lost, he should stick to his own business. Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years, I'm not sure he can say the same."

A war of words has continued through the months since the incident, with an unrepentant Ramos saying ahead of the summer's World Cup that Liverpool's complaints were way out of proportion.

Soon after, Klopp talked of the Andalusian's "ruthless and brutal" actions on the pitch and just last week brought up Ramos apparent unsporting dive to get Juventus' Juan Cuadrado sent off in the 2017 Champions League final.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach's latest comments were put to Ramos before Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Atletico Madrid.

And the Blancos skipper then made his latest remarks regarding Klopp's failure to win six of his seven career finals as a manager, with defeats including the 2013 Champions League to Bayern Munich when with Dortmund, and the Europa League final to Sevilla and League Cup final against Manchester City with Liverpool -- both in 2016.

Ramos has captained Madrid to the last two Champions League trophies, while his long CV also contains two further European Cups, as well as the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 and 2012 titles.

The Real Madrid defender had some words of consolation for Klopp, saying he had given him his vote as Spain captain for the [presumably] 2018 FIFA "The Best" awards. "I've voted for him as one of the three best coaches of the year, so that he calms down a bit."

When the controversy over the challenge on Salah first flared up Ramos claimed to have exchanged messages with Salah, although the Egypt international later denied to have replied that "it was fine".
