Former Chievo boss Corini replaces De Zerbi as Palermo manager

Palermo have made their second change of head coach this season by replacing top-flight novice Roberto De Zerbi with former Chievo boss Eugenio Corini.

The Serie A basement boys have lost seven games in a row, winning only one this term, and 37-year-old De Zerbi has paid the price.

A statement on Palermo's official website said Corini would take control of first-team affairs, becoming the third man to pick the team in 2016-17 after De Zerbi and his predecessor Davide Ballardini.

No fewer than seven men occupied the position of head coach at the Stadio Renzo Barbera last term, while an eighth, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, quit soon after arriving as he was not UEFA licensed.
