Olympiakos, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis cleared of match-fixing

The owner of both Greek club Olympiakos and English Championship side Nottingham Forest has been cleared of forming a match-fixing ring in Greece.

Evangelos Marinakis was cleared by the Supreme Court but could still face a charge of bribery relating to match manipulation, reports in Greece said.

A judicial council will now decide whether or not to drop that charge, with Marinakis denying any wrongdoing.

In November, he was charged with forming a match-fixing ring, but related blackmail and fraud charges against him were dropped after being re-examined by the Supreme Court.

Marinakis, 50, who also faces charges of drug trafficking, has described himself as "a victim of a plot."
