Paul Onobi has point to prove at Lobi Stars

Super Eagles midfielder Paul Onobi has joined Lobi Stars and stated he has a point to prove to his doubters.

The holding midfielder was one of the standout players in the 2014/15 Nigeria Professional Football League season while playing for Sunshine Stars of Akure.

He made his full international debut against Swaziland in Port Harcourt, relegating John Mikel Obi to the bench. Despite a subdued performance at the 2016 CHAN tournament, he managed to earn a move to Finland which ultimately ended after a season.

Onobi joined Lobi Stars in the mid-season transfer window after been released by Abia Warriors and has set his sights on returning to his best form.

"It is true I am now with Lobi Stars. I just want to prove some people wrong by playing regularly and posting good performances for my new club," said Onobi.

"Abia Warriors is now history, I don't want to talk about the team, all I know is that I took a wrong decision by joining Abia Warriors.

"Sometimes you take a decision that is not favourable to you and that is what happened to me because any day, anytime, I am a good player," he said.
