Bayern Munich are determined to win the signature of Leon Goretzka, according to reports in Germany.
Goretzka, 17, has impressed for hometown club Bochum this season, becoming a regular starter for the Bundesliga 2 side. He has played ten games, scoring one goal, enough to earn the label 'the next Michael Ballack' by some impressed onlookers.
The box-to-box midfielder has already been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid but Bayern's director of sport Matthias Sammer has met with the youngster in a bid to convince him his future is with the Bundesliga leaders, say German newspaper Welt.
Bochum sporting director Jens Todt has been quick to play down talk of Goretzka's departure, saying: "We absolutely do not plan to give up Leon. He should play for Bochum for many more years."
